BRISTOL CULTURE: The Labour Group on Bristol City Council is proposing to cut £100,000 from the annual arts budget. The move, led by Southville councillor Sean Benyon, aims to maintain spending on crime reduction projects while cutting by nine per cent funding to the so-called Key Arts Providers - organisations funded by the council to the tune of £900,000, from the Asian Arts Agency to St George’s.

Bristol City Council are to debate a proposed a budget cut of £100,000 to the Bristol City Council arts budget with effect from 1 April 2014. The whole arts budget is £977,000 so this represents a cut of nearly 10%. This is due to be decided on during a council budget meeting this Tuesday 18th February.

TELEVISUAL: Company Pictures TV drama Wolf Hall is to shoot in the UK, starting this Spring, rather than Belgium which was originally planned. The production, directed by Peter Kosminsky, will be based in Bristol, using locations in the South West of England.
