On Februray 21st, The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre went into administration. This has happened partly as a result of Somerset County Councils policy not to support the Brewhouse in 2011 which led to the removal of Arts Council funding.

THE STAGE: The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre in Taunton is to go into administration tomorrow following cuts to its public funding in recent years. The centre is expected to confirm that it will be closing from tomorrow (February 21) while all options are considered.

THE STAGE: A petition has been launched to try to extend the time local groups have to submit a proposal for running Weymouth Pavilion Theatre.
The building is under threat of closure and possibly demolition after Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, which owns the venue, said it would cost too much to run in the coming years.
