Branch's letter re. WHITELADIES PICTURE HOUSE in The Post

Recent success by our branch and the Whiteladies Picture House project, saw the proposal to convert the grade II listed 1920s cinema on Whiteladies Road, Bristol into flats and a gym unanimously refused. 

It was suggested by branch member Arthur Duncan that the branch should write an open letter congratulating the City Development Planning Committee on their decision.

This letter was written to the Development Management and copied to various arts and cultural institutions in the city as well as regional politicians, councillors and union representatives . This open letter can be found here.

An abridged version of the letter was later published in the Bristol newspaper, The Post.
