A co-production with Theatre Absolute, The Wedge is a search for freedom and understanding at odds with dangerous discoveries. Naomi Said is a performer, director and practitioner who has worked with companies including Theatre Absolute, Belgrade Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Frantic Assembly, National Theatre Wales, The Old Vic, The Bush, Regent’s Park, Opera Holland Park, English National Opera, Cheltenham Everyman, Stephen Joseph Theatre, ThickSkin and Stand+Stare. Most recently she performed with Damon Albarn in his opera ‘Dr Dee’, directed by Rufus Norris.
Naomi began writing ‘The Wedge’ after attending one of Theatre Absolute’s Writing Gyms at the Shop Front Theatre. Early excerpts were performed at China Plate’s First Bite Festival in 2011 and Camden People Theatre’s Sprint Festival in 2012. This full production of ‘The Wedge’ now marks Naomi’s debut as a writer.
