Informal account of the 'entertaining' 2015 AGM, from the Chair of the Branch Committee
This is not a formal report. It is just a quick note to let you know that your Branch is still alive and well(ish) 6 years after it was set up by the indomitable Helen Raw - who this year stood down from her role as Secretary of the Branch - with Catriona Joss (Assistant Branch Secretary at the time of the meeting) speaking to Helen’s yearly Secretary’s Report.
The AGM was held in the very plush surroundings of the Festival Theatre, which has good access, and who have kindly offered us space at a greatly reduced price as part of their support for our Mental Health work and as part of their overall commitment to social responsibility, with a real understanding of the isolation suffered by so many of their fellow theatre makers.
The AGM was well attended and was as informal an affair as such official meetings can be. One attendee even described it as “entertaining”. I am mentioning this as – one – it was great to get feedback that supported our conscious efforts to create an atmosphere that people could connect to, and – two – it was just lovely to get such vocal support.
