BASSC Comes to Manchester

We are just two weeks away from the first ever BASSC weekend workshop in Manchester!!

Don't miss this chance to come and train with the UK's leading stage combat organisation right on your own doorstep!!

The Meleé in Manchester is a weekend full of fighting!! Everyone is welcome whether you have any experience or not.  All that matters is that you are willing to try something out and have some fun!

Where?  The Co-Operative Academy Manchester, Plant Hill Road, Higher Blackley, Manchester, M9 0WQ

When?  Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2014

Times?  10am until 6pm each day.

How much?  Just £75 for the whole weekend (£65 for BASSC members)

Who will be teaching me?

Stratford Strangle

Certified Teacher Andrei Zayats and Master Teacher Roger Bartlett will be the staff for our first workshop in Manchester.

Andrei's choreography for his scene "D'Artagnan travels in time" won a prize for "original combination of fighting techniques" at the IVth International Festival of Stage Fencing 2013 in Moscow. Originally from Russia, Andrei studied theatre art in France and UK and he holds a Post-Graduate degree from Birmingham School of Acting. Andrei's film credits include X-MEN:FIRST CLASS, FAST & FURIOUS 6, WORLD WAR Z and FRANKENSTEIN'S ARMY.

Roger is an Equity Registered Fight Director and is currently the President of the BASSC.  He teaches at the Birmingham School of Acting and has worked as far afield as Chicago and Jerusalem.  His fight directing credits include work for Iris Theatre, Birmingham Rep, Faction Theatre, and as Associate Fight Director for the National Theatre's production of "One Man Two Guvnors" at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.  Roger has also worked as part of the stunt teams for season 2 of "Vikings" currently showing on the History channel and also available on Amazon Instant Video.

What's On

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced stage fighter, there will be something to whet your appetite at this workshop.

There will be fisticuffs, swordplay and a big ol' Bar Room Brawl to round off the weekend.
