North East Variety Branch

Equity has a vital network of branches throughout the UK which give members a voice in the union and much more.

The North East Variety Branch hold monthly meetings (except December) on the last Tuesday of the Month from 7:30pm at Pelaw Social Club, Heworth House, Gateshead, NE10 0XQ.

Our Annual Dinner Dance, on the 13th. March, was a big success. We welcomed Sam West as our Top Table Guest along with Louise Grainger and Nogel Jones. We are already looking forward to next year.

Our branch delegates to the ARC in May will be Richard Sands, Chairman, and Steve McAvoy, Asst. Secretary - along with Branch Sec. and Equity Councillor Brenda Marsh. It should be an interesting conference as there are very many changes taking place and the majority of Variety members are against these changes. The number of Councillors will be reduced by half and the intention is to axe some committees.
