Check it out. Sounds like a cracking day out to me!

Important Branch Meeting On Tuesday 3rd May

As previously announced, Charlotte Bence will be our guest speaker at this meeting. Charlotte is Equity's Student Co-ordinator which means that she is well qualified to discuss the relationship between Equity and its student members. And that is - amongst other things, exactly what she intends to do. Please come along and join us for what looks to be a most interesting evening.

There is plenty of free car parking and we will be enjoying some of Shelli's welshcakes and coffee at some point. It will be nice to see you there. (Even if you don't like welshcakes and coffee!)

Wednesday December 2nd 2015:

Another excellent and well-attended Christmas party came and went at the Branch last night. Big thanks to Shelli Dawn who made it all happen and to Noel West for supplying the PA system and acting as our MD for the evening. Also thank you as ever to our hosts Jayne and Roger for the awesome meal and for putting up with us again. And we mustn't forget Chelsea and Jo for looking after our culinary requirements so well.

And thank you Dr Peter Marshall for being our guest speaker for the evening. Peter treated us to a riveting lecture on the inner-workings of the sub-conscious human mind. Peter is, amongst other things, a prolific writer and a thoroughly fascinating chap. He has written a plethora of books on psychology and various other aspects of the human brain.

Finally, a massive thanks to the night's entertainers:
Bill Bennett, Tom Morgan, Prince Nadine, Dave Thomas and Noel West.

I hope I've included everyone.

Oh it's Christmas soon. I hope the eccentric fat guy in the natty red suit treats you well again this year! Ho ho ho.

Shall we say 'Same time next year then?'

Tuesday February 1st 2016:
Committee meeting at 7:00 PM | Branch meeting at 7:30 PM

We are delighted to welcome all members living, working or just passing through South Wales to our monthly Branch meetings. We meet on the FIRST TUESDAY of every month at:

Please do your best to attend any of our meetings.
It would be great to see newer/ younger members attending as we need to get more insight into what you expect from the Union & the business. The internet is great for keeping in touch but so much more can be be acheived by meeting face to face & getting to know fellow artists. We usually have an enjoyable mix of business and pleasure. (And we don't bite!)  Hope to see you there.

Equity has a vital network of branches throughout the UK which give members a voice in the union and much more. Branches are set up by the Equity Council to give members in local areas the opportunity to meet regularly to discuss issues of common concern and to have a focal point.
Members are invited to join their local branch to share views and experiences, put proposals to Equity's ruling body, organise a programme of social events and raise money for local charities.
Equity Student members are also very welcome at meetings. Student members can also volunteer to take an active role in branch activities by standing for election as committee members and other important roles.
Branch Secretaries also give local advice to members in their area and those who are visiting, and some branches now have their own websites which include local news and directories of branch members.
