Campaign against the double taxation of performers

Equity and the International Federation of Actors (FIA) are supporting the campaign of the Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe (Pearle) to tackle the issue of ‘double taxation’ of performers. The campaign is calling for the abolition of article 17 in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Model Tax Convention treaty to ensure that artists performing in Europe are employed and taxed on terms no less favourable than other professionals working in Europe.
