Equity is seeking to appoint an Equalities and Diversity Organiser to lead Equity’s equality and diversity work, promote equal opportunities for Equity members and to build an Equity membership that is reflective and representative of the entertainment industry workforce.
Working with Equity’s four equality committees in this key strategic role, you will develop and oversee the union’s equality and diversity strategy, identifying and campaigning to overcome barriers to equal opportunities in the employment and training of Equity members.
Ideally you will have trade union experience, knowledge of discrimination law, excellent communication and advocacy skills, be highly motivated, able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and understand the organising agenda. You will need to be a confident self starter, have a proven track record of project development and delivery, and an enthusiasm for working with members at a grass roots level.
The starting salary is £44,090.81, rising on a scale, with 31 days annual leave and a pension available.
