As well as negotiating across all sectors to achieve the best possible deals for our members, and lobbying the government for greater protective measures for creative workers, Equity staff have been working hard to support you through a range of services during this crisis.
In these unpredictable times many of our members may be experiencing difficulties with and worries about their mental health. Equity has a support system for members dealing with mental health problems, including a dedicated 24/7 mental health helpline and remote well-being sessions.

ArtsMinds: A collaborative project that was created between BAPAM, Equity, The Stage and Spotlight, artsminds.co.uk is a resource hub dedicated to mental health support for performers and creative practitioners.
Financial advice & support
During a challenging time for our industry Equity is working to give you the best financial help and support possible. As well as producing a regularly updated coronavirus financial support briefing, the union has bolstered its hardship fund and expanded the tax & welfare team to ensure you receive the support you need.
Coronavirus financial support briefing: Equity has put together a guide to help members understand their rights to the different kinds of financial support available during the Coronavirus pandemic and how to claim them. It covers the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), the self-employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) and Universal Credit (UC), as well as other tax measures and loan schemes, and is being updated on a rolling basis. Equity Zooms In On…
Equity is hosting an ongoing programme of meetings via Zoom covering the wide variety of issues currently facing our industry. This includes regular meetings every Tuesday at 10:30am and Thursday at 3pm, as well as additional independent sessions, and cover a range of topics from Tax & Welfare and Royalties, Secondary Payments & Contract Enforcement to Children’s Entertainers and Magicians.
As well as this programme of events, many branches are running Zoom meetings for their members. Please see your branch’s webpage and check their social media for more information.
