Special Representative Conference 2021
26-27 September 2021, London
The Special Representative Conference (SRC) brings together Equity members to debate current and future policy matters. Participants represent Equity branches, committees and Council. They put forward motions in advance and the SRC decides which motions will be passed and become part of union policy.
In a normal year, the Conference would be called the Annual Representative Conference (ARC). However, due to Covid restrictions, the ARC planned for May 2021 was cancelled and an SRC will be held instead.
The provisional agenda has now been approved by the Council.
Branches and committees can submit amendments to motions, which must reach email@example.com by the deadline of Friday 27 August, 12 noon.
When and where
The SRC 2021 will take place on 26-27 September 2021 in London.
Want to take part?
Branches and committees elect representatives to attend the conference. The process is now open, and the names of all elected representatives must reach firstname.lastname@example.org by the deadline of Friday 27 August, 12 noon.
Alternatively, you can apply to attend the SRC as an observer. This means you can see the debates but are not able to speak or vote. It's a good way of seeing the union's democracy at work, and helpful if you want to get more actively involved. If you are interested in being an observer you must be a paid-up Equity member. Please email Sam Winter on email@example.com, writing "SRC OBSERVER" in the subject line and including your Equity Name, Equity Number, phone number and email. Observers cover their own costs of attendance.
