MESSAGE FROM SALLY TREBLE
EQUITY MIDLANDS AREA COUNCILLOR
As your elected Midlands Area Councillor, I continue to represent your interests on Equity’s Council and am currently engaged on the LIVE ENTERTAINMENT WORKS! Campaign to try to keep venues open and ensure our Variety members are working.
I have also embarked on a personal campaign to chase Repeat/Residual and Royalty payments for all members who have worked as Walk-on and Supporting Artists in the past. Many Walk-On Agents have now ‘ceased to trade’ or are deceased, just to remind you – this includes Agencies such as Lee Evans, Barbara Plant, Jack Denman, Val Hastings, and Robert Smith (recently deceased).
If you worked as a Walk-on and have received payments from BBC / ITV /Channel 4 or Fremantle Television (Reg Grundy) through your Agent, but are no longer receiving cheques, YOU have to do the following….Sens an email query to the relevant Company and ask if they are holding payments for you. You will be required to give the Companies the following information: National Insurance No. Name and Address and (importantly), your Bank Details (as they will only pay by Bank Transfer). Several members have done this recently and received hundreds of pounds that they did not know were due to them!
So, get Emailing: You’ve got nothing to lose - and perhaps much to gain!
