A letter from "The Room Above"

14 November 2016

We are emailing to invite you to our Opening Party and Fundraiser on Thursday 17th November, an evening which will see the whole venue transformed into a festival of creativity and entertainment. We would love for you to attend and celebrate this special occasion with us, and here's why:

We believe that Bristol's artistic provision is amongst the best in the country, and part of this is due to its wealth of innovative sites and pertinent theatrical programmes. Despite being a small and intimate space, we feel that as one of the newest additions to Bristol's performance facilities we can offer a venue that helps people to realise that whatever their influence on the arts, it is not only worthwhile but valuable.

Our ethos is simple: if you want to contribute, you should be able to. If you want to make something, do. We want our venue to be defined by the people that walk through its doors.

Whilst we build up to the start of our programme, we're doing our utmost to restore The Room Above to a lively and experimental performance location, so please join us if you can.

To tell you a little more about the evening, there will be an exclusive drinks reception with refreshments between 6 and 7pm, before we open the pub doors to the public and showcase work from some of Bristol's best and upcoming talents in a mini festival including spoken word, comedy, live music and theatre. We have attached an invitation with further details, and we hope to see you there.

We are aware that Allison Vale is the Bath and Bristol reviewer but could not find contact details, but would very much like to invite her along too,

Thank you and look forward to hearing from you,

Olivia Marcus and Sam Patching
Co-Directors of The Room Above
