Wolf Hall to shoot in UK, not Belgium as planned

Mark RylanceCompany Pictures TV drama Wolf Hall is to shoot in the UK, starting this Spring, rather than Belgium which was originally planned.

The production, directed by Peter Kosminsky, will be based in Bristol, using locations in the South West of England.

The six-part adaptation of Hilary Mantel's novel about Thomas Cromwell (played by Mark Rylance - pictured) for BBC Two is being made in association with Masterpiece Entertainment and Playground Entertainment (US). Adapted by Peter Straughan, the series will incorporate Mantel's sequel, Bring Up the Bodies.

Mark Pybus is producing for Company Pictures,

Also basing itself out of Bristol this Spring is US comedy musical TV pilot Galavant from ABC Studios.

Created, written and produced by Dan Fogelman (Last Vegas, Cars), it will star UK actors Joshua Sasse and Vinnie Jones, giving it the requisite UK credentials to qualify for tax breaks.

Produced with Rhode Island Avenue Productions, it will shoot primarily in  Bristol and Wales.
