The Actors Centre breaks free of the M25

1 October 2014

After months of consultation, partner brokering, planning and then location scouting, the Actors Centre is very excited to announce that they are launching their pilot Regional Workshop Programmes in the North and Midlands.

They will be working in collaboration with Curve, Leicester as part of their artist development programme and their shared ethos of supporting artists via industry engagement and professional development opportunities. The Manchester programme will run parallel to that in Leicester and will be delivered at a city centre location.

"We recognise that there is a demand for an increase and specific professional development opportunities for actors across the UK, and want to bring the Actors Centre to them. Initially, we will be running two masterclasses a month in both regions, bringing some of our tutors up from London."  These masterclasses begin next month, and will initially run until April 2015. After this, they will be looking at whether there’s a need to extend this, as well as working towards a central focus in both regions where actors can meet and network.

If you’re a current member of the Actors Centre, you will be able to access these regional masterclasses. If you’re not, and are based in the Leicester or Manchester area, they can offer free Regional Membership, giving you access to the first six months of masterclasses. (Please note, Regional Membership does not give you access to the London programme, and membership will be assessed against current membership criteria).
