Casting two male actors Oxfordshire-based

13 April 2017

Casting Call - two male actors with a base in Oxfordshire

Human Story Theatre are producing Zena Forster’s new play:

The Fourth Dog

A comedy about breast cancer, marital breakdown, family baggage and grieving – what could be funnier?

Character descriptions:

Playing Age: 25-30

The young groom, a 'toy boy'. Andy is a Doctor with a cheeky smile and is full of charm and charisma.

We would like to hear Northern accents for this role, Liverpool is desired but we are open to hearing other accents. Andy doubles as 'D'Arblay', husband of Fanny Burney in the sections of the play set in the 18th Century. He is noble, strong, supportive, honourable. D'Arblay needs to have a French accent.

Playing age: 70-90

Peter is full of life and energy at the age of 83 - the life and soul of the party, and he'd especially like to be described as such. He is grandfather of the bride and also carer for his infirm wife, Valda. Peter is posh and exuberant, and often puts his wife down. He's having an affair with a younger woman. RP accent.

We are putting on a week’s ‘pilot’ of performances in July (plans to tour in 2018). We have 8 performances booked at various venues including: The Old Fire Station, The Mill Banbury, The Theatre at Chipping Norton, Eynsham Village Hall.

The fee for the pilot will be in line with Equity Minimum. This would be for two weeks rehearsals 19th - 30th June and the performances 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 July. The 1st July show is part of Offbeat Festival.

The auditions are on Thursday 20th April, at Ark T Centre, Cowley, between 11am - 1pm.

If you fit either of the above descriptions please email with your spotlight link and a covering letter stating your Oxfordshire base.
