 Paul Ridd Fundraiser

We are at it again. Doing good things for our fellow humans as usual. This time it's raising some cash for The Paul Ridd foundation. Paul was a Baglan boy who suffered from learning disabilities due to being starved of oxygen during birth and died as a result of mistakes made by the NHS. The foundation was set up to help people like Paul.

Our spiritual home for the last few years is Tyn Y Twr at Baglan and our Landlady Jayne Nicholls who administers the foundation is Paul’s sister. It is only right therefore that we hold our event at Tyn Y Twr so we have arranged no less than ten top quality artists to entertain you for the night. But we do need you to support us. Please make the effort on the night, which will be 3rd October 2017.

Oh and did I mention that admission will be free. No brainer!

AGM 2017 - 7th March - 7:00pm

Just a gentle reminder dear reader. that our Biennial Annual General Meeting meeting takes place on Tuesday 7th March, alongside our normal Branch meeting. This is really important as, amongst other things, we will be voting for (or against) a new committee to serve us for the next two years.

We will have an interesting and entertaining guest speaker too in the form of Matt Hood. Matt is Equity's assistant Secretary so he knows a thing or two about what happens 'on the inside' in London - so always worth a listen.

To cap it all we will have a professional photographer popping in to record the goings-on.

Shelli, along with our host Jayne, will be organising some tempting tea and coffee along with a healthy dollop of welshcakes and biscuits.

As always, our target this month is another full house on the night. Please pop yourself along and try an make it so!

We are delighted to welcome all members living, working or just passing through South Wales to our monthly Branch meetings. We meet on the FIRST TUESDAY of every month at:

Please do your best to attend any of our meetings.
It would be great to see newer/ younger members attending as we need to get more insight into what you expect from the Union & the business. The internet is great for keeping in touch but so much more can be be acheived by meeting face to face & getting to know fellow artists. We usually have an enjoyable mix of business and pleasure. (And we don't bite!)  Hope to see you there.

Equity has a vital network of branches throughout the UK which give members a voice in the union and much more. Branches are set up by the Equity Council to give members in local areas the opportunity to meet regularly to discuss issues of common concern and to have a focal point.
Members are invited to join their local branch to share views and experiences, put proposals to Equity's ruling body, organise a programme of social events and raise money for local charities.
Equity Student members are also very welcome at meetings. Student members can also volunteer to take an active role in branch activities by standing for election as committee members and other important roles.
Branch Secretaries also give local advice to members in their area and those who are visiting, and some branches now have their own websites which include local news and directories of branch members.
