Equity @ Edinburgh 13: THE WORKSHOP PROGRAMME
Following our Edinburgh events on Agust 8th, 12th and 15th we are running a full week of activities from the 18th to 23rd:
Sunday 18th - Friday 23rd August : Equity @ Edinburgh 13: Drop-in Advice Zone
Informal drop-in space for you to ask Equity’s advice about any of your work or career issues; find out more about what we are doing (campaigns, services, getting involved etc) and meet the union.
11.00 - 13.00, August 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 (no session on 19th). Free. Fringe Central, (concourse area) Appleton Towers, Chrichton Street (venue 2). No booking required, just turn up and look for the Equity sign.

1) Equity @ Edinburgh 13 - The Fringe Fair
We are joining other industry organisations in this free entry hub of advice and information. Just come by and see what's available.

2) Equity @ Edinburgh 13 - Universal Credit, what does it mean for you?
Many of the welfare benefits people claim to sustain a livelihood in the performing arts are being abolished by the government's welfare reforms. Universal Credit will replace income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Housing Benefit and many other benefits. Join us for this free session on Universal Credit to find out about entitlement under the reformed system, how it will work and what will happen to the benefits you claim now.

Your chance to come out of the wings and join us for this opportunity to discuss your work, your conditions, things you want to improve, things you want to applaud, get new information and share ideas. Whether this festival is your first or fiftieth stage management job, this is for you.
Thursday 22nd August
Equity @ Edinburgh 13 - Got a Question?
Performers and Creatives, Journalists and Musicians, are invited to attend free 1-2- 1 drop-in-advice sessions. Officials from Equity, the Musicians Union and the National Union of Journalists will be available to answer any questions you have about your rights at work and the festival. We look forward to meeting you and answering your questions.

Friday 23rd August
Equity @ Edinburgh 13 - Freelance Survival Guide
Unfortunately, talent is not always enough to have long-term freelance success. In addition, freelances need to have a grip on marketing techniques, finance management, research skills, motivation and more to create opportunities and ensure work continuity. This session will cover the essentials of all of these.
