Branch Meetings return to West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2013

We are pleased to announce that we will be returning to West Yorkshire Playhouse for some of our Branch meetings in 2013. The following dates have now been arranged:

Tuesday 12 February 2pm - Branch Meeting with WYP Artistic Director James Brining speaking + Annual Representative Conference Resolutions

Tuesday 9th April 2pm - Branch Meeting - Amendments to ARC Resolutions

Saturday 13 July Midday - Branch Meeting

We would like to thank West Yorkshire Playhouse for welcoming back our branch meetings and there will be more information about these meetings in our January Newsletter.


New E-mail Address for Yorkshire Ridings General Branch

Yorkshire Ridings General Branch now has its own e-mail address: Please send all e-mail communications to the Branch to this new address. This change will mean that while officers and committee members will come and go, the e-mail contact address for the Branch should remain the same.


Find Out First on Your Branch Web Site …

We are developing our Web Site into a valuable resource for the Branch. The quickest way to get News updates from your Branch is to subscribe to our RSS feed. This is at:         Printed versions of Branch Newsletters can either be read on the web site or downloaded from there. A large print version of the Newsletter can also be downloaded from the Web Site. Dates of Branch Meetings are entered into the Events Calendar on the web site. You can view the details of an Event in the Calendar and download it into programs such as the Calendar in Microsoft Outlook.

… Branch Meeting Agendas and Minutes now on the Web Site too

Your Branch Committee has now published a Standard Agenda for Branch Meetings to give members who haven’t been to a meeting before an idea of what we discuss when we meet. The length of time spent discussing different agenda items will vary from meeting to meeting.

With the same idea in mind, Minutes of Branch Meetings will also now be published on the Web site. The Minutes of our November meeting in York include notes of Jean Rogers’ talk on ‘How the Media Controls our Image’ as well as details of important issues that our Regional Organiser Nigel Jones reported to the meeting.

To download Minutes of our Branch meetings, you will need to log into the members’ area of the Equity Web site at with your membership number and your password. After you have logged in, go to and click on the link to Documents. Click on the November 2012 Branch Meeting Minutes and follow the instructions to save these to your computer.

We always welcome members who haven’t come to a Branch Meeting before.
