Home Counties West General Branch
Equity has a vital network of branches throughout the UK which give members a voice in the union and much more. Branches hold regular meetings in their local area and all members and student members are invited to attend these to share views and experiences, discuss issues that are of importance to them and put proposals to Equity's ruling body - the Equity Council. Branches also organise a programme of social events and raise money for local charities.
If you are an Equity member or student member based in the area you are able to join the branch (no charge). If you are a member or student member visiting the area you are very welcome to drop into the next branch meeting and get to know some of your fellow members.
We hold our Branch Meetings bi-monthly usually on the fourth Tuesday at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, Berkshire. We meet in the bar first at 7:00pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm-9:30pm. See South Hill Park on google maps.
Our Next Branch Meeting will be:
7.30 pm March 12th 2018

Why were Equity branches founded?
In the pre-digital era to help keep members up-to-date with developments in the union and in the profession as most communcation was by post or vast public meetings that many members couldn’t attend for reasons of work or distance.
Today’s branches are striving to help members not only keep abreast of union and industry developments, but also to network with each other and improve their skills and marketability. That is why Home Counties West tries to arrange a mixed programme of speakers who address different aspects of the professions Equity’s members belong to and hold workshops to enhance their skills. So we thought we’d see what may be literally on our doorstep.
Guest Speakers - we would like to hear from anyone who could come to a branch meeting and offer practical skills services to our members.
If you offer services/advice in the following: cv writing, tax, social media, makeup, voice coach, marketing etc., or any other topics not listed here that could be of great benefit to our members. We will pay your travel expenses to South Hill Park, Bracknell, where our Branch meetings are held.
Workshops - we would like to hear from anyone who can offer reasonably priced workshops to our members.
Some of our recent workshops have been held at South Hill Park, Bracknell, because it is a good venue, not far from the train station and parking at SHP is free. But we are open to suggestions of other venues to hold workshops.
If you are interested in being a Guest Speaker and/or providing us with a Workshop, please contact Branch Chair from the 'Contacts' tab.
