West Of England Variety Branch
Equity has a vital network of branches throughout the UK which give members a voice in the union and much more. Branches hold regular meetings in their local area and all members and student members are invited to attend these to share views and experiences, discuss issues that are of importance to them and put proposals to Equity's ruling body - the Equity Council. Branches also organise a programme of social events and raise money for local charities.
PLEASE NOTE OUR BANNER AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. We are proud to say that JO BRAND is our Branch Patron.
If you are an Equity member or student member based in the area you are able to join the branch (no charge) so please get in touch with the Branch Secretary. If you are a member or student member visiting the area you are very welcome to drop into the next branch meeting and get to know some of your fellow members.
You can also keep in touch with other members digitally by the following means:

I have been the Branch Secretary for the past 17 or 18 years. I have found it very rewarding as well as hard work. The value of face to face meetings with other members is difficult to explain unless you have actually attended at branch level. It is just so reassuring to meet up with fellow performers, and a really good opportunity to socialise with like-minded people who understand the unique nature of the entertainment industry. I would dearly love more members and new faces to come along to our meetings, share problems, discuss solutions, and come up with ideas for moving the branch forward in developing more services for us all. I am also extremely fortunate to be serving for a fifth term on Council, so if you want an up to date report of the inner workings and some humour, come along for the ride!! We really need you, and you will be assured of a warm welcome. We also have our own Facebook page West of England Variety Artistes so find us there too.
BRANCH MEETINGS ARE ON THE SECOND MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH excluding Bank Holidays. We hold eight meetings a year, with a summer break in June, July and August, and December seasonal holiday. We now meet at 2 Filton Road, Horfield, BRISTOL, BS7 0PA.
