Bursary available for dancers

6 June 2012

Male dancerDancers' Career Development (DCD) is now inviting applications for two Acting for Others bursaries, worth up to £3,000 each, for outstanding retraining applications from professional Musical Theatre dancers. Acting for Others is run by The Combined Theatrical Charities. During the last two weeks in October, every year, bucket collections are held in theatres across the country. Audiences are asked by performers to assist with fundraising in aid of their less fortunate colleagues.

As a member charity, DCD is extremely privileged to be able to offer two Acting for Others bursaries to professional Musical Theatre dancers in need of retraining support. The bursaries are aimed to finance a personal retraining plan for a professional dancer, which leads to an accredited career or business start-up inside or outside the dance industry. All Musical Theatre dancers are welcome to apply if they fulfil the DCD eligibility criteria outlined here.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 22nd June 2012.

Previous Acting for Others bursary recipients include George Long (2010), Thema Davies (2010), Jane Butler (2011) and Alan Vincent (2011).
