Have you applied for Access to Work?

18 September 2014

Equity has been asked to provide initial information on members’ experiences with Access to Work (AtW) to the Parliamentary Select Committee Enquiry on AtW by Friday 26 September. We would like to hear from more members about their experiences using this government programme.

An Access to Work grant can pay for practical support if you have a disability, health or mental health condition to help you start working, stay in work or move into self-employment or start a business.

Please send examples of your experiences with AtW – both good and bad – to Emma Cotton at Be sure to include rough dates of when you made the application(s) and whether or not you made it on a self-employment basis.

Be assured this just the first step in the union’s work on AtW. The Deaf and Disabled Members Committee are working on this issue to provide support to members and it will soon be sending out a more detailed survey to hear more about members’ experiences.
