Job Opportunity at Equity: Regional Organiser for the North East Area

Equity is the UK trade union representing over 42,000 professional performers and creative practitioners from across the spectrum of the entertainment, creative and cultural industries.

As the current contract expires at the end of 2017, we are seeking to appoint a Regional Organiser to play a key role in organising, representing and supporting Equity members working in both live entertainment and recorded media in Yorkshire and the North East of England from 2018 onwards on a full time, permanent basis. You will be joining a team of highly skilled organisers dedicated to representing, protecting and promoting the interests of our members.

You will have trade union experience, understand the organising agenda, possess excellent negotiation, communication and advocacy skills, be highly motivated, able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have competent IT skills. The post is based in Equity’s Northern office in Manchester, but extensive travel is required across the region so a full driving licence is essential.

The starting salary is £47,858.22, with car provided along with 31 days annual leave and a contributory pension scheme.
