Northern Ireland agent banned from running an agency for 10 years
2 August 2017
An Industrial Tribunal in Northern Ireland has prohibited Mr Mark Butler (McCrory) of Universal Artists Belfast from operating any employment agency or business for a period of 10 years.
This follows an extensive investigation by the Department for the Economy’s Employment Agency Inspectorate into complaints received from a number of actresses alleging inappropriate conduct and behaviour on the part of Butler.
Equity assisted the Employment Agency Inspectorate in obtaining the prohibition order.
Equity’s Northern Ireland Organiser Lorne Boswell said: “We are pleased that this agent has been served this prohibition order. Equity will act to defend its members and demands professional standards and behaviour from employers and agents.”
