Stand up to racism

12 March 2014

Anti-racism marchMarch with Equity and join us for Stand up to Racism and Fascism on 22 March. A day of action has been called for across Europe on 22 March to coincide with UN Anti-racism Day. The TUC, its affiliates and other organisations are organising an anti-racism demonstration. Details about the event are here:

Why is Equity marching? Equality is central to Equity’s work as we seek to ensure that all performers and creative professionals have equal access to employment opportunities and to bring an end to unlawful discrimination in the industry. Our industry can be a positive agent for changing societal attitudes and therefore the union must be at the forefront of championing equalities across the industry. Groups, organisations, and individuals who promote an ideology based on hatred for others on any basis do not share the values that are compatible with those of Equity. We are marching for equality for all performers and creative professionals and promoting an anti-racism agenda in the UK and beyond!

Participating on 22 March: We will assemble at 11am at Old Palace Yard, London SW1P 3JY, opposite the Houses of Parliamen,  and will be marching to Trafalgar Square. You will find Equity officials there along with Equity flags and banners to make our presence known.

If you have questions about the event feel free to contact for more information.

Transportation : The closest tube to Parliament Square is Westminster Tube Station. If you are coming from outside of London, there is transportation arranged from over 20 different cities across the UK. For more details please go to:

If you are not able to join us for this event, show us your support by tweeting @EquityUK on the 22 March.
