We invite all members to the first in a new programme of branch social events.

Here is a note from Alex Hall, from our branch committee, who is arranging this get-together:

Following a few chats in the pub post-meetings, we’ve decided to start organising social Equity events in addition to our usual branch meetings. While these meetings are terribly important, we realise it’s equally important for us as members to be able to meet-up and get to know each without having worry about motions and minutes and all that jazz.

Seeing as we’re all creative sorts, we thought a film screening would be a good first social event, followed by an informal discussion/chat (in the bar of course) about the film or whatever else people want to talk about.

We’ve gone with Isle Of Dogs as our film choice this time round. It’s Wes Anderson’s latest project; stop-motion in Fantastic Mr Fox vein, set in a dystopian Japan where dogs have been exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island.

The date we’ve earmarked is Monday 2nd April at 18:10, at the Watershed. (Equity members get a discount price of £8, under 24s get £5 tickets – Currently seeing if I can negotiate some sort of group discount so watch this space. NOTE: You do have to either book over the phone or pay in person to get the Equity discount). Seeing as it’s Easter Monday, please feel free to bring any family members or friends who fancy coming along too, the more the merrier!

If you can’t make it this time around, don’t stress, this is just the first of many social events. (If you have any burning ideas for good future socials then please do send them my way!)

Hope to see you all there!
