Tell the government that sexual harassment law is not working

Today Equity has joined the TUC and 20 other trade unions and organisations in launching the #ThisIsNotWorking campaign, aimed at taking another step forward in stamping out sexual harassment at work.

Sexual harassment has no place at work. But every day, people across the UK are sexually harassed at work. 1 in 2 women have been sexually harassed at work. Two thirds of LGBT+ workers have experienced sexual harassment at work.

Currently, employers have no legal duty to proactively prevent it.

Our laws rely on individuals reporting but #ThisIsNotWorking. The onus is on the victim to report - which can be isolating, confusing and potentially traumatic.

We are asking members to sign the petition and tell the government that #ThisIsNotWorking. Please add your voice here:

This campaign is backed by our four equalities committees.

Earlier this year we marked the anniversary of our Agenda for Change report and Safe Spaces campaign aimed at tackling sexual harassment in the industry. A lot of progress has been made, but there is still more to do. This new campaign would be a significant boost to our efforts, and we strongly encourage members to sign the petition.
