Equity’s Deaf and Disabled Members Committee (DDMC), supported by the D&DM Councillor, is conducting a review into the way the union communicates with its D/deaf and disabled members. As your committee, we want to make changes to ensure that the union communicates effectively and in a way that suits all members, not just the majority. We want you to know what your union is doing for you and how better we can represent you.
The first part of our review is very simple. We would like to know:
What forms of communication you receive from Equity, and do you find them accessible?
There are many options for giving us your answer. You can:
- Send us a message using email, text What’s App or social media.
- Record an audio or video message (with or without BSL) and send it to us, or send a link to We Transfer, Vimeo, You Tube, Dropbox, etc.
- Request a call back via phone, Skype or Zoom.
Here are the all-important contact details:
Please contact Equity no later than Saturday 12th September.
For the second part of the review, we would like to have a follow-up discussion with a group of those who answered the initial question, but we need your permission to do that. Please let us know, when replying, whether you would like to take part and make sure we have your details. Thank you.
If you feel your union is not talking to you, we need to hear from you.
