Council Digest February 2020

At its meeting in February 2020, the Equity Council made the following decisions:

  • To convene a President’s Roundtable on “Safe Spaces – Next Steps”
  • To ask Simon Curtis, National Organiser for Wales, to represent Equity on the Wales TUC General Council
  • To change the name of the Minority Ethnic Members Committee to the Race Equality Committee

The Council marked the death of member and former councillor Frances Cuka.

The Council also welcomed a new record number of members in benefit, with the union’s total membership (excluding students) now standing at 48,355.
