As we wait for theatres and other performance spaces to re-open, we have a unique opportunity to shape how our world of work will look when we return to it.

We want to ensure there are no backward steps in the progress we have made in areas such as pay and conditions, representation and inclusion, accessibility and funding, and that the crisis doesn’t result in a worsening of those areas where we still had work to do.
In the coming weeks, we have a unique opportunity to assess the sector as a whole. We have a chance to identify what practices and norms from the old ways of working we want to leave behind, what we wish to protect and enhance, and what needs to change when we re-open.
Getting this right will involve all of us, and that’s why we are asking for your help.
This Workers’ Inquiry seeks to create useful knowledge about work, exploitation, employer/worker relations and economic factors from the perspective of workers themselves – workers like you. It has been put together by Equity members across all the professions we represent from all over the UK. The knowledge and insights it produces will be invaluable tools for organising, and that's precisely what we need at this moment of crisis.
To organise our way out of the pandemic and into a better, more equitable industry we need the maximum number of people involved and engaged with this work.
Please take the time to fill this in, and please ask your friends, your colleagues and your fellow workers to do the same. Yours are the voices we need to hear.
