“We are very disappointed by the Metropolitan Police’s decision not to launch an investigation into the allegations made against Noel Clarke. This is a devastating blow to the confidence of entertainment industry workers to report their experience of sexual harassment and bullying, and we call for transparency and clarity as to how the threshold for a criminal investigation was not met.
If the problem of sexual harassment and bullying in the industry is to be tackled, the police – alongside employers – have a responsibility to properly investigate complaints and protect workers from perpetrators. As a trade union, we will always fight for the right of workers to do their job in workplaces that are free from bullying and harassment of any kind.”
