  • Set Designers
  • Costume Designers
  • Set and Costume Designers
  • Assistant Designers
  • Associate Designers
  • Assistant Directors
  • Resident Directors
  • Associate Directors

Directors

We’ve been listening to directors, both Equity members and not, to provide better clarity on directing roles such as assistant, associate and resident and we offer these overviews as a guide.

We want to hear from you about the info we’ve already collated

Do these descriptions accurately describe your experience? Do you have more to add? What issues most affect you as an associate, resident or assistant? Have you taken on a similar role which isn't listed? Get in touch

Designers

In conversation with Whitecard Collective and SBTD we have created job descriptions for set designers, costume designers, set and costume designers, assistant designers and associate designers, which can be read or downloaded below.

We want to hear from you about the info we’ve already collated

These are working documents, designed to support you in negotiations over contracts and we are looking for your feedback on them. What should be added, or changed? Do these descriptions accurately describe your experience? Do you have more to add, or suggestions for edits we should make? Contact Us.

Thanks also to Bectu Theatre Freelancers Branch for their endorsement of these job descriptions, and the Scene/Change members who contributed to them too.
