Who's it for? Opera singers and opera stage management.
What's it for? A chance to find out what is being done to improve pay, terms and conditions in the opera sector, get more involved, and make a genuine contribution to improving the sector.
This strategy day is your chance to find out what is being done by Equity members to improve pay, terms and conditions when working on union agreements and when undertaking work not currently offered on a union negotiated contract. It’s a chance to get more involved, and make a genuine contribution to improving the sector through both industrial negotiations and wider lobbying. The day will start with a brief introduction to Equity and recent opera activity, including an overview of the claims. Members will begin building strategy to improve the areas that you care about through campaigning and negotiations. By the end of the day, we aim to be collectively better equipped to organise in your workplaces within the opera sector.
The event will be on Sunday 29th November 2026, from 10am - 4:30pm, at Equity, Guild House, Upper St Martin's Lane, London, WC2H 9EG.
Travel expenses and lunch will be provided, and there will be an evening social for those wanting to continue the conversation beyond 4:30pm
