How much is child membership?
If you're aged 10-17 (inclusive) and earn less than £40,000 you can join as a child member at 50% of the full cost. If you pay by Direct Debit you’ll receive a £6 discount on your annual membership fee. Membership costs:
- £8 a month if paying by Direct Debit.
- £99 a year if paying a one-off payment by debit or credit card.
When you join for the first time or rejoin after a break, there is also a one-off entrance fee of £49.50, reduced to £32 if paying by Direct Debit.
If you earn over £40,000 a year you will need to join as a full member.
Evidence needed for child membership
To join Equity as a child member, you need to demonstrate either that:
- You have earned £750 or more from professional work in the entertainment and performing arts industry. We can accept contracts, invoices, emails, letters, wage or payslip that confirms the following details:
- The dates you worked
- The type of work you did (i.e. dancer, stunt performer etc)
- How much you were paid
OR
- You can provide proof of membership of an FIA-affiliated union.

- You have undertaken a job on an Equity contract (excludes Equity student contracts)

Our child membership is for professional performers aged 10 to 17 (inclusive) who earn less than £40,000. If you earn more than £40,000, our full membership is for you.
