Equity members join TUC mass lobby of Parliament

Last Wednesday, trade unionists, including dozens of our members, descended on Parliament to meet with and lobby their local MPs on the cost-of-living crisis.

The rally sent a clear message to the new Prime Minister: Don’t Cut Culture Funding!

Our members and Councillors, who travelled from Scotland, Wales, London, South West and the East of England, gained commitments from Secretaries of State and SNP and Labour MPs to raise issues around Universal Credit, pensions, and cuts to culture funding with the new Government.

Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Angela Rayner was also keen to send Equity’s message to Rishi Sunak:
