What we're asking for
Ask the Minister to reverse the devastating cuts of over 40% that the arts have suffered. Why? Because investing in the arts:
- supports creative industries, and promoting the arts, language and cultural sectors
- revitalises town and city centres
- encourages diversity and participation in society and promoting social inclusion
- promotes sports and leisure within our communities
- supports local government to deliver services
- supports the Voluntary and Community Sector
- realises the value of our built heritage
The arts also supports 33,000 people employed in the creative industries here, delivering an annual GVA of £1.3 billion to the Northern Ireland economy.
