Lobby your MP in Westminster against the disability cuts
We invite members to join a mass parliamentary lobby against the disability cuts on 21 May 2025 from 1pm to 4pm in Westminster Lobby, Jubilee Room, organised by the Coalition Against Benefit Cuts, Disabled People Against Cuts and Disability Rights UK.
In March, the government announced extensive cuts to social security in Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper. We strongly oppose the cuts. Find out here what the cuts mean for you.
If you are affected by the cuts, meet with your MP at the mass lobby. Equity members and staff will be present on the day to provide support with key messages.
The government is not consulting about some of the most significant cuts and so persuading your MP to vote against them is crucial.
How to get involved
First you must arrange a meeting with your MP in Westminster during the event on 21 May 2025. To find out who your MP is, please go to: Find your MP - MPs and Lords - UK Parliament. There is a template letter on the event website.
Then let us know you are attending so we can support you on the day with key messages and, depending on availability, with support during your meeting. Please contact Lidia Lewis via email llewis@equity.org.uk or on 07912 341532 if you have an MP appointment and would like support.
If you are attending, as well as contacting Equity, please also notify the organisers by filling in the form here.
