Where is your pension now?
If you already have an Equity pension - fantastic! Your pension is most likely to be in the “default fund”. If you don’t have an Equity pension - get one! They are brilliant.
After campaigning from Equity for a Green New Deal, our “default fund” has moved to a greener option. BUT… it is still partly invested in fossil fuels.
As a member of the Equity Pension Scheme you can CHOOSE to invest in a totally fossil free pension fund.
A fossil-free fund means no Shell, no BP - no investment in climate-wrecking companies.
One example is the Liontrust Sustainable Future series, which includes fossil-free funds such as 'Liontrust Sustainable Future Global Growth', 'Liontrust Sustainable Future Managed' and 'Liontrust UK Ethical'.
These funds invest in different parts of the world and have different levels of risk. We can't say which one is right for you and your circumstances. But we can say that all Liontrust Sustainable Future funds are sustainable, ethically sound and exclude fossil fuels. Research shows that ethical funds perform just as well, if not better than traditional funds.
