"On 27 January Equity marks Holocaust Memorial Day, remembering the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust. We remember too, the millions more people murdered under Nazi persecution and the genocides that have followed in the years since.

"This year’s Holocaust Memorial Day theme is Bridging Generations – a reminder that the responsibility of remembrance does not end with the survivors but is a responsibility for all of us. We take this responsibility, and the lessons remembrance teaches, seriously.

Today we continue to collectively fight against hatred, racism and discrimination. It is only by learning the lessons of the past that we can build a safe and peaceful future."
