Calling all Calderdale Creatives!

Equity is proud to be supporting CalderdaleCreates’ at its event on Thursday 2 October: ‘Network Meeting x Culture Needs Trade Unions’.

If you’re a Calderdale-based cultural or creative industries freelancer, artist or represent an organisation you’re invited to join us!

This event is free and is open to current and new members of CalderdaleCreates. It will be held at The Crossley Gallery, Dean Clough, Halifax, on 2 October from 5.30-8.30pm, with arrival from 5pm.

Hot drinks will be available on arrival and a vegan and vegetarian supper will be served mid-way through the meeting.

CalderdaleCreates exists to help individuals connect with their peers, grow their skills and to develop a collective voice for the sector in Calderdale. As part of this network meeting CalderdaleCreates will share its news and plans, and invite you to get involved in shaping the future of the network.

Equity will be there discussing why culture needs trade unions alongside comrades from other major unions including The Musicians’ Union, Bectu, Artists’ Union England, National Union of Journalists, and The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain.

You’ll be able to learn about the trade unions most relevant to you and you work, with a short presentation from each union followed by a chance to chat with representatives and network members in person, whilst you enjoy the complimentary supper.

Booking is essential – free tickets for the event are available here.
