Our political education residential is returning for a second year. Join Equity members from across the UK for a two night residential exploring how to build worker power in our industry.

A two-day training course for building worker power

  • Why are prices rising faster than wages?
  • Who is making money from your work?
  • How can you, as creative workers, regain control of your working lives?

Your pay is being squeezed as inflation skyrockets. Productions are cut shorter whilst you’re forced to do more unpaid work. Industry bosses tell you it’s just the way things are. But there is nothing natural or inevitable about this and you don’t have to accept it.

What you will learn

On this course we will look at:

  • How the economy and creative industries are set up to work against your interests as creative workers
  • How by acting together as a union we can build power to bargain for higher pay, better conditions, and more control over your work.

This course is free - fully funded by the union, and includes accommodation, meals, and expenses for reasonable travel costs to and from the course.

However, spaces are limited and applications are not processed on a first come, first served basis. Applicants will be selected to ensure a diverse training cohort that reflects the union.

If you love the sound of this course, but aren’t sure if you should apply, then please speak to Gareth Forest at gforest@equity.org.uk who will be happy to advise.

If you want to build your activism within Equity, apply now! Applications close 30 November.
