Join Equity at Essex Pride

March with us at Essex Pride on 20 June in Chelmsford for the annual celebration of LGBT+ life in Essex and beyond. The event is also a moment to recognise the work that still needs to be done to achieve and protect LGBT+ rights, especially as Reform-led Essex County Council has banned the promotion of Pride events at Essex libraries.  

Look out for Equity flags at the meeting place at Marconi Plaza, next to Chelmsford Theatre, at 10am. It's completely free to join the march with no registration required. 

The 2026 Pride Party March will be led by Chelmsford’s RuPaul’s Dragrace star, Cheryl the Queen, and features live music from No Limits Street Band playing LGBTQI+ anthems, plus street performers and an atmosphere worthy of Chelmsford’s diverse and dynamic community.

• 10am: meet at Marconi Plaza, next to Chelmsford Theatre
• 10.30am: performance from No Limits Street Band plus speeches from the Pride March stage at Marconi Plaza
• 11.15am: march assembly will begin on Fairfield Road, just outside Chelmsford Theatre
• 11.20am: the march sets off from outside Chelmsford Theatre
• 12pm: the march arrives at it's destination inside Central Park.
