Power: How workers win - Equity Political Education Days 2026
Winning change is hard. It requires a robust collective of engaged members. But how do we get there? On this day, we’ll characterise the nature of your work, and explore some of the advantages and disadvantages this has for organising. How does this compare to other workplaces? What would confer more power to you?
Sarah Jaffe, (author of Work Won't Love You Back and a labour journalist in Britain and the US) will offer her perspectives on the nature of your struggle, and how other workers have faced and overcome other challenges. From sectoral negotiations in film and TV, to work to protect venues key to variety artists’ performances, we’ll apply these principles to Equity’s current campaigning, and you’ll come away with ideas about how best to utilise your industrial leverage.
This training will take place at Equity's London offices: Guild House, Upper St Martin's Ln, London WC2H 9EG. You are eligible for reimbursement of your travel expenses per the union's expenses policy. Questions: training@equity.org.uk
