Equity Zooms In On...

You may already be aware that Equity's Equalities Committees are hosting a series of weekly virtual coffees to see us through self-isolation! Join us every Thursday at 3pm to ask questions and get updates from Equity staff on how to navigate freelance life in lockdown.

We want these meetings to be fully inclusive and accessible. If you have any access needs, including the need for a BSL interpreter, please email Lottie on lstables@equity.org.uk. Closed Captioning is available for any meeting you attend - just ask at the beginning via the chat function (this can be done privately to Lottie Stables if necessary).

Members can access recordings of previous Zoom sessions here.

As well as this programme of events, many branches are running Zoom meetings for their members. Please see your branch's webpage and check their social media for more information

Thursday 3 December
Equity Zooms in on... D/deaf and Disabled Members

It is UK Disability History Month. Join members of Equity’s Deaf and Disabled Members Committee to find out about the current priorities of the committee, including projects ongoing from before the current crisis, as well as issues that are specifically affecting D/deaf and Disabled members due to the pandemic and lockdown. It will include a Q&A with committee chair Phoebe Kemp, and an opportunity to share your own experiences.

Equity is currently capturing evidence of the disproportionate negative impact of COVID measures on members based on their protected characteristics. We welcome examples of these being raised during the Zoom session.

Equity Zooms in on... Northern Ireland

Join Adam Adnyana, Equity's National Organiser for Northern Ireland, and Caoileann Curry-Thompson, Drama and Dance Officer for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to ask questions you have about working in theatre, variety or recorded media in Northern Ireland. What restrictions are in place? Are there areas of work re-starting? What does health and safety at work look like in a global pandemic? And what funding is available for creative workers at this time?
