How much is full membership?

Our membership fees are based on how much you earn. If you pay by Direct Debit you’ll receive a £6 discount on your annual membership fee. The membership fees below include the Direct Debit discount.

When you join for the first time or rejoin after a break, there is also a one-off entrance fee of £49.50, reduced to £32 if paying by Direct Debit.

Who does Equity represent?

Actors, choreographers, comedians, dancers, drag artists, theatre directors, models, singers, stage management, storytellers, stunt performers and co-ordinators, theatre designers, theatre fight directors, variety, circus, cabaret and light entertainment artists, voice artists, supporting artists and more.

Evidence needed for full membership

To join Equity as a full member, you need to demonstrate either that:

 

  • You have earned £750 or more from professional work in the entertainment and performing arts industry. We can accept contracts, invoices, emails, letters, wage or payslip that confirms the following details: 
    • The dates you worked
    • The type of work you did (i.e. dancer, stunt performer etc)
    • How much you were paid

OR

  • You have undertaken a job on an Equity contract (excludes Equity student contracts)

What age is full membership for?

Our full membership is for professional performers and creatives aged18 to 65. If you are aged 10-17 you can access our subsidised young person membership or if you are aged 66 or over you can also access our subsidised membership, as long as you earn less than £40,000 (inclusive). If you earn more than £40,000 and are aged under 18 or over 65, our full membership is for you.
