Join Equity's Choreographers and Movement Directors Network

Choreographers and Movement Directors Network

This network is open to all Equity members who work as Choreographers and Movement Directors, and offers a space to explore the challenges you face in the workplace, build the collective power required to tackle these challenges and develop strategies for improving terms and conditions for those working as Choreographers and Movement Directors across the industry.

Join the network

The mission of the Network is to:

  • To organise and advocate for the work of professional choreographers and movement directors.
  • To increase the visibility of professional choreography and movement direction through crediting, recognition and education within our industries and in public.
  • To campaign for more equitable working conditions and compensation for all choreographers and movement directors.
Choreographers and Movement Directors mass action day
The network held a mass action day to strengthen their collective voice and strategise around the challenges they face across the entertainment industry.

I feel immensely proud to be part of Equity and to have started the CMDN. With some 200 members, to have that much representation within the infrastructure of Equity is something I feel immensely galvanised by and proud of. The network is a coming together of passionate individuals who want their profession to be seen, recognised and respected. Equity staff have given me confidence that we can change antiquated standards and with each member that joins, I feel the effort easing for everyone.
